The 12c Modern offers a comprehensive reimplementation of the classic HP 12c financial calculator, preserving its iconic design and functionality while integrating modern enhancements. The application introduces features such as interactive prompts, register views, and customizable recipes, making it a versatile tool for financial calculations.

This free version includes essential calculator functions, mathematical operations, percentage calculations, calendar functionality, and memory features. However, to unlock advanced capabilities—such as Time-Value-of-Money (TVM), Cash Flow analysis, Amortization schedules, Bond valuations, Depreciation calculations, and Statistics—a one-time in-app purchase is necessary.

The 12c Modern addresses two significant challenges for users: clarity regarding the contents of internal registers and memorization of specific key sequences required for various calculations.

• The register views on the main screen enhance operational transparency by allowing users to easily navigate between different register groups (e.g., Financial, Cash Flow, Bond) and inspect stored values.

One of the standout features is the ability to record keystrokes for specific calculations, which can then be saved as recipes. This functionality alleviates the need to remember complex key sequences. Users can simply select a pre-recorded recipe—whether built-in or personally created—and execute it with guided visual prompts that indicate the required keystrokes throughout the process.

• The application includes 20 built-in recipes and offers users the flexibility to add, record, edit, or delete their own recipes as needed.
